Surrogate Funding / Mission

We stand at the crossroads.

Every young man reaches a crossroads. Surrogate Funding makes sure the first voice he hears there belongs to a man who has walked that road.

Our mission

Our mission.

Surrogate Funding stands at the crossroads for young men. We mentor them so they see the trap before they step in it. And when a man is locked up over a few hundred dollars, we bring him home.

Our vision. Every young man in the Midlands has a man in his corner who tells him the truth before the streets, the wrong friends, or the system do.

Pillar

Faith

A young man who knows his purpose is harder to lead astray.

Pillar

Family

Fathers, mentors, and brothers who show up.

Pillar

Finances

Money skills, a first job, and no small debts that turn into jail time.

Pillar

Order

Discipline, structure, and choosing your circle with wisdom.

Faith. Family. Finances. Order.

The four pillars, in under thirty seconds.

Every young man in the circle builds on the same four things. A man who knows his purpose is harder to lead astray.

Who we serve

Reached before the system gets them.

We start in Richland County and the Midlands. Most of our work goes to boys and young men at the age where one decision, or one wrong friend, can set the course of a life.

Boys at risk

Ages 12 to 17

A man who shows up, somewhere to be after school, and help staying in school.

Young men at the crossroads

Ages 18 to 25

Discernment about friends and betrayal, a first job, money skills, and a plan.

Young men already touched by the system

Ages 14 to 25

On probation, in diversion, or just released. A mentor, so the first charge is the last one.

Adults held on small bonds

Any age

$70 to $300 to get home before they lose a job, their housing, or their kids.
