Before you call
Make sure you qualify.
Landstar's requirements, plainly. If you're short on any of these, the application won't get through — save yourself the hour.

1 year verifiable OTR experience — within the last 3 years.

23 years old or over — Landstar's floor for every freight type.

Clean driving record — MVR and work references get verified.

Hazmat endorsement — or willing to get it. A lot of my freight moves on it and it pays better.

No truck of your own needed — I own both of these. You bring the license and the record.
Plain about the arrangement: these are my trucks running under Landstar, so you'd be driving for me rather than leasing your own. Landstar still vets every driver the same way. Pay we settle on the call — I'd rather agree it with you straight than post a number that turns out not to fit the freight.
